Dell XPS One CPU Fan Failure and will not shutdown

If your Dell XPS One A2010 has a 'CPU Fan Failure' message that occurs during every boot, don't worry the solution only takes about 5 minutes. Accompanying the 'CPU Fan Failure' alert, the system might also fail to enter sleep mode, hibernation, or shutdown properly, forcing a manual shutdown. Both of these issues were/are caused by Dell's BIOS update 2.0.5 for the Dell XPS One A2010. NEITHER OF THE ISSUES ARE ADDRESSED IN DELL'S BIOS UPDATE RELEASE 2.0.6 AND IT WILL NOT FIX THEM. (The 2.0.6 update only changes the boot logo to the New Dell Logo. I guess that is more important than patches.)

To fix these issues download the previous BIOS 2.0.4 which you can download here.

HP Pavilion m9260f freezes randomly

HP Pavilion m9260f freezes randomly.

The computer was running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit and would freeze randomly during use. After upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit the issue started occurring again after installing Epson printer that did not have a compatible Windows 7 driver available. I could not replicate the issue at my shop after uninstalling the Epson printer software a drivers. Updated the BIOS with the most recent that addresses thermal and overheating issues with the Pegatron/ASUS Benicia motherboard model IPIBL-LB. Checked temperatures of components using speedfan application. All components were within specified range of temperatures. Also used datavac to blow dust out of inside of computer. Issue seems to be resolved.
